CAIRO, June 9 (Xinhua) -- The foreign ministers of Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) discussed regional issues on Tuesday, focusing on the regional conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran, and the situation in Gaza.
During two separate phone calls, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty exchanged views with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
They discussed the U.S.-Iranian negotiations as well as efforts to facilitate an agreement and promote security and stability in the region.
The top diplomats also discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and ongoing efforts to implement the requirements of the first phase of the Gaza peace plan.
Furthermore, they reviewed developments in Lebanon, stressing the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, preserving Lebanon's security, stability and sovereignty, and ensuring the full and non-selective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Regarding Sudan, the ministers underscored the importance of maintaining Sudan's security, stability, unity and territorial integrity, while working to support efforts aimed at achieving stability and enhancing the prospects for a political settlement. ■
