HANOI, June 9 (Xinhua) -- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) and Vietnamese President To Lam on Tuesday requested the Theoretical Council of the CPVCC to conduct deeper research on socialism, as well as Vietnam's socialist model and development path, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
Speaking at a working session with the council for the 2026-2031 term, Lam stressed the need to consider the changing global conditions, particularly the development of socialist localities, the transitional period, and emerging factors in practice.
The Vietnamese leader also urged the council to focus on pressing theoretical issues facing the country, including Vietnam's development model in a new era, mechanisms for rapid and sustainable development, modern national governance, strategic autonomy amid international integration, and the impacts of digital transformation, green transition and energy transition. ■
