FUZHOU, June 8 (Xinhua) -- In 2016, after graduating from college, young entrepreneur Qiu Guimin returned to her hometown in Pingnan County and started an agricultural cooperative.
In 2020, she began contracting barren fields from villagers in Nanwan Village for grain farming. While restoring the previously barren hills to farm land, Qiu also collaborated with Nanwan Village to hold cultural and tourism events such as music festival and the farming culture festival. These activities have attracted many young non-locals to open homestays and cafes in the village, injecting new vitality into the rural community.
"The village gains hope with increased popularity," Qiu said.
