NEW DELHI, June 8 (Xinhua) -- At least eight workers were killed and six others suffered injuries on Monday after a ladle carrying molten steel exploded at a steel plant in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, police said.
The incident took place at the Vizag steel plant's heat facility in Visakhapatnam, about 392 km northeast of Amaravati, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh.
Following the incident, the plant management initiated emergency response measures and deployed safety teams to the affected area.
The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. ■
