ADEN, Yemen, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The World Bank Group has approved a new Country Partnership Framework for 2026-2030 and four development projects worth 285 million U.S. dollars to support recovery in conflict-affected Yemen, the internationally-recognized government announced Saturday.

The framework focuses on nutrition, electricity access, as well as agriculture and fisheries, aligning with Yemen's national development plan. The four projects cover health, water, urban services and governance, it said in a statement.

Yemen has been engulfed in conflict since 2014, when Houthi forces seized control of the capital, Sanaa, and much of the country's north, prompting a Saudi-led coalition to intervene in 2015 in support of the internationally-recognized government.

The war has created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises, leaving millions facing food insecurity and lacking access to basic services.

The World Bank reestablished a coordination office in Aden in 2023, its first on-the-ground presence in Yemen since 2015.
