JERUSALEM, June 4 (Xinhua) -- A total of 64,400 tourists entered Israel in May, up 76 percent from April, according to data released Thursday by Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics.
The rise came after a U.S.-Iran ceasefire and an Israel-Lebanon ceasefire announced both in April, and amid a gradual resumption of flights by foreign airlines.
Israel only received 9,400 tourists in March, the data showed.
Overall, 345,900 tourists visited Israel in the first five months, down 38 percent year-on-year, it showed. ■
