JAKARTA, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's Ministry of Industry said on Wednesday that the domestic sports equipment industry has strong growth potential, supported by rising exports, job creation and contributions to regional economies.
Reni Yanita, director general of small, medium and various industries, said the sector has shown steady growth over the past five years, with exports increasing 11.3 percent in 2025 and reaching markets including the United States, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
To further support the industry, the ministry is promoting business matching through the Indonesia Sport and Active Wear program, which aims to strengthen links between manufacturers, buyers, retailers and potential partners, while improving product quality, innovation and market access.
"The achievements show the industry can continue to grow if supported through quality improvement and market expansion," Reni said. ■
