ALMATY, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Kazakhstan's real gross domestic product (GDP) is projected to grow 4.7 percent in 2026, according to a report published by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on Wednesday.

The central Asian country's economic growth slowed to 3 percent year on year in January-March 2026 from 5.6 percent a year earlier, as disruptions in the oil sector weighed on output, the bank said in its June Regional Economic Prospects report.

Construction, transportation and manufacturing maintained growth momentum, while mining contracted by 11.4 percent year on year following disruptions involving the Caspian Pipeline Consortium and an incident at the Tengiz oil field, with a recovery expected by the end of the year, it said.

The report keeps its 2027 growth forecast for the Kazakh economy at 4.5 percent.

In 2025, Kazakhstan's GDP expanded by 6.5 percent, surpassing 300 billion U.S. dollars for the first time. The government aims to maintain an annual growth of 5-6 percent in the coming years and raise GDP to 450 billion dollars by 2029.
