JAKARTA, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia has called on investors to expand tourism investment beyond Bali to promote more balanced and sustainable economic growth across the country, Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana said on Monday.

Speaking at the Investor Roundtable 2026 in Bali, Widiyanti said tourism investment remains heavily concentrated in popular destinations such as Canggu, Seminyak, Uluwatu and Ubud, while many other regions offer significant untapped potential.

"Indonesia is not only Bali. We have many prime destinations with strong tourism and investment potential waiting to be developed responsibly and sustainably," she said.

The government is prioritizing the development of 10 national tourism priority destinations and several regenerative tourism areas to create new growth centers, generate employment and improve regional welfare.

She added that the ministry is preparing an API-based verification system to ensure accommodations marketed on digital platforms comply with business licensing requirements.
