MADRID, June 1 (Xinhua) -- Spain's squad for the forthcoming FIFA World Cup finals continued preparations on Monday with its second training session at the headquarters of the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) in Las Rozas on the outskirts of Madrid.

Yeremay Pino joined the camp after helping Crystal Palace win the UEFA Conference League title last Wednesday.

Around 2,000 people attended an open day at Las Rozas on Sunday, with players signing shirts and posing for photographs with young fans.

Injured trio Nico Williams, Lamine Yamal and Victor Munoz continued to train separately from the rest of the squad, with Williams and Yamal recovering from hamstring injuries, while Munoz has a calf problem picked up at the end of the season.

Speaking to Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo, coach Luis de la Fuente insisted the trio would be fit for the World Cup.

"We know they are going to arrive in perfect conditions and I will stick my neck out and say they will be fit for the opening game, (against Cape Verde on June 15th) but we will continue to follow how they develop," commented De la Fuente.

Striker Mikel Oyarzabal spoke to the press about his hopes for the World Cup, with Spain traveling to the tournament as one of the favorites after winning the European Championship two years ago.

"Being considered favorites makes headlines, but we're calm and confident in ourselves," said the Real Sociedad player, who is set to make his World Cup debut.

"It's exciting and special and it makes me aware and happy of where I have got. I couldn't play in 2022 (because of a knee injury), so I'm grateful for everything that's happened to me in my career," he added.

Spain will play a warm-up match against Iraq in La Coruna on Thursday before continuing preparations in Mexico, where it will also face Peru in a friendly.
