BEIJING, May 29 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 jolted south of Mariana Islands at 1757 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 12.46 degrees north latitude and 143.45 degrees east longitude. ■
