TOKYO, May 29 (Xinhua) -- A Japan Airlines passenger plane made an emergency landing at Narita airport near Tokyo on Friday after a suspected tire blowout during takeoff, local media reported.

The plane, a Boeing 767, was bound from Tokyo's Haneda airport to Kagoshima airport in southwestern Japan, carrying 218 passengers and eight crew members. No casualties were reported, according to Kyodo News.

The runway at Narita airport, where the aircraft made its emergency landing at around 11:55 a.m. local time, was temporarily closed, as was the departure runway at Haneda airport, after suspected tire debris was found there. Both runways have been reopened.

The incident came after a similar case on Monday, when a Skymark Airlines Boeing 737 made an emergency landing at Haneda after a tire was found to have ruptured.
