TEHRAN, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said Friday that Iran obtains concessions not through dialogue, but with missiles.

In a post on social media platform X, Qalibaf, who is Tehran's top negotiator in peace talks with Washington, said, "We obtain concessions not through dialogue, but with missiles; in negotiations we merely make them understandable," while outlining Iran's approach to the ongoing negotiations with the United States aimed at ending the war.

He added Iran has no trust in the other side's guarantees or words, stressing that "only actions are the criteria (for Iran's decisions)."

Qalibaf stressed that Iran will take no action before the other side acts, emphasizing that the winner of any agreement is the one who will be better prepared for war as of the day after its conclusion.

Iran and the United States are reportedly working to finalize a memorandum of understanding on ending the war that started on Feb. 28 with joint attacks by the United States and Israel against Iranian capital Tehran and several other cities.

Following the ceasefire that took effect between the warring parties on April 8, Iran and the United States have begun a diplomatic process to end the conflict. Over the past weeks, the two sides have reportedly exchanged several proposed plans outlining conditions for ending the conflict through Pakistani mediation.
