Israel issues evacuation order to residents in southern Lebanon's city of Tyre

JERUSALEM, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Israel's military on Thursday issued an evacuation order for residents of the city of Tyre in southern Lebanon.

The military said it would operate against the Iran-backed group Hezbollah in the area. "The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) is compelled to take forceful action against it," said the order.

Residents of the zone around certain buildings should leave and travel north of the Zahrani River, it added. ■
