ISTANBUL, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Three oil tankers were attacked by drones near Türkiye's northern Black Sea coast on Thursday, shipping agency Tribeca said, with no casualties reported.
According to media reports citing Tribeca, the Palau-flagged tanker James II was sailing in ballast when it was attacked about 80 km north of the Turkeli area in the Black Sea.
Two Sierra Leone-flagged tankers, Altura and Velora, were also reportedly attacked in nearby waters while conducting a ship-to-ship operation. Both vessels were in ballast at the time of the incident.
Coastal safety and rescue boats were dispatched to assist the vessels, and all crew members were reported safe, according to the reports.
Türkiye's Transport Ministry did not immediately comment on the incident due to the Eid al-Adha holiday. No party has claimed responsibility for the attacks so far. ■
