HANOI, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's green economy is projected to contribute more than 10 percent to its gross domestic product (GDP) and generate hundreds of thousands of new jobs by 2030, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday.
The forecast was released at the launch of the Smart Landscape & Healthy Living Expo 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam. The event showcases solutions and technological innovations in clean energy and sustainable urban development, according to the report.
Nguyen Thu Phong, vice president of the Vietnam Association of Architects, noted that rapid urbanization is fueling growing demand for green and healthy living environments. The integration of urban design and advanced technologies also offers new pathways for high-quality urban development.
Phong emphasized that offshore wind power projects, green hydrogen development and smart urban zones are creating vast opportunities for the development of green technologies, the Internet of Things, clean energy and sustainable building materials. ■
