ANKARA, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said Türkiye "stands ready to provide all kinds of support in the implementation phase of any agreement that may be reached with Iran," his office said on Sunday.

In a statement, the office said Erdogan made phone calls with U.S. President Donald Trump and several Middle East countries' leaders, addressing developments in Iran and the Middle East.

During the talks, Erdogan said Türkiye is striving to promote peace throughout the region, believing appropriate solutions can be found to seemingly contentious issues, including Iran's nuclear issue.

Erdogan emphasized that Türkiye desires a new era in which countries in the region do not pose threats to each other, and there would be no losers in a just peace.

The statement did not specify when Erdogan held the phone calls with the leaders.

Trump said earlier that a peace agreement with Iran had been "largely negotiated," subject to finalization among the United States, Iran and other relevant countries in the Middle East.
