DHAKA, May 24 (Xinhua) -- A head-on collision between a passenger bus and an ambulance on Sunday in Faridpur district, about 101 km away from the capital Dhaka, left five people dead.
Md Nazrul Islam, superintendent of police in Faridpur district, told Xinhua that the collision took place at around 10:20 a.m. on a highway leading to Dhaka.
He further said, "Five victims, all from the ambulance and including the driver, died on the spot."
The accident also injured several bus passengers, who were rushed to a local hospital, said the official.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known. ■
