Kabul, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Nineteen Afghan children have returned home after completing a course of specialized medical treatment abroad, the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) said Saturday.

According to the statement, the children had been evacuated for care related to severe burns and associated bone infections through international humanitarian and medical cooperation programs.

These initiatives are designed to provide essential treatment not available within Afghanistan.

The patients have now concluded their treatment and been discharged. They have reunited with their families, the statement said.

The society said that support will continue to be provided to facilitate the children's full recovery and their smooth reintegration into local communities.
