WELLINGTON, May 21 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand kiwifruit marketer Zespri reported record results for the 2025/26 season, driven by strong global demand and higher sales volumes.
The world's leading marketer of kiwifruit said global fruit sales revenue rose to 5.9 billion NZ dollars, up from 5 billion NZ dollars a year earlier, with total trays sold increasing to 248.1 million from 220.9 million. Global operating revenue reached 6.13 billion NZ dollars in the season.
Net profit after tax climbed to 280.1 million NZ dollars, boosted by larger fruit volumes and license income. Excluding license revenue, profit rose to a record 123.8 million NZ dollars, up from 79.8 million NZ dollars in 2024/25, said a Zespri statement released late Wednesday.
Zespri's CEO Jason Te Brake said the results reflected the company delivered a record crop in a much more "challenging and complex" environment, with strong performance in Europe and North America offsetting pressure in some markets. ■
