BUENOS AIRES, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Lautaro Pereyra scored in the 92nd minute as River Plate earned a 1-1 home draw with Bragantino in the Copa Sudamericana on Wednesday.

Alix Vinicius gave the Brazilian side the lead at the Monumental Stadium in Buenos Aires by heading in at the far post after Isidro Pitta's cross.

The visitors looked set for a shock victory before Pereyra equalized with a close-range finish after goalkeeper Cleiton parried Juan Fernando Quintero's long-range effort into the midfielder's path.

The result leaves River Plate top of Group H with 11 points, four clear of second-placed Bragantino.

In Bolivia, Botafogo edged closer to the last 16 with a 3-0 away win over Independiente Petrolero. Cristian Medina and Jordan Barrera scored either side of halftime for the Brazilian club before Independiente goalkeeper Jhohan Gutierrez inadvertently turned the ball into his own net.

Botafogo now leads Group E with 13 points, five ahead of second-placed Caracas FC, which has a game in hand.

In other Copa Sudamericana fixtures on Wednesday, Gremio won 2-0 at home to Palestino, Santos was held to a 2-2 home draw by San Lorenzo, Olimpia prevailed 3-1 at home to Vasco da Gama and Boston River won 3-2 at home to O'Higgins.
