KAMPALA, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Uganda will play friendlies against Tanzania and Madagascar during the June 2026 FIFA international window, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announced on Wednesday.
Ahmed Hussein, FUFA's corporate affairs director, confirmed that both matches will be held in Marrakech, Morocco.
"These matches will be played in Marrakech. The Uganda Cranes will face Tanzania on June 5, and three days later take on Madagascar," Hussein said.
He added that the friendlies form part of the team's preparations for upcoming international assignments, including the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
"The two matches will provide the technical team under coach Paul Put with an opportunity to assess the squad and build competitiveness ahead of AFCON 2027," he said. ■
