VIENTIANE, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Laos and Kyrgyzstan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and longstanding friendship during a meeting between Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and Special Representative of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Anwar Anarbaev, in Lao capital Vientiane.
The meeting took place on Monday at the Prime Minister's Office during Anarbaev's working visit to Laos, according to a report from the Lao People's Army News on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Sonexay expressed appreciation to the government and people of Kyrgyzstan for their continued support and assistance to Laos in various areas over the years, particularly in human resource development. He expressed the hope that Laos and Kyrgyzstan would further strengthen cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks.
For his part, Anarbaev reaffirmed Kyrgyzstan's readiness to deepen friendship and enhance cooperation with Laos.
Both sides praised the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries, which established diplomatic relations on July 13, 1995. ■
