SINGAPORE, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Singapore's non-oil domestic exports (NODX) rose 24.5 percent year on year in April, extending the 15.3 percent increase recorded in March, official data showed on Monday.

The strong performance was driven mainly by electronic exports, which surged 66.7 percent in April amid sustained demand linked to artificial intelligence technologies, according to a statement from Enterprise Singapore.

Non-electronic NODX expanded by 10.9 percent during the month.

Meanwhile, non-oil re-exports (NORX) increased by 29.6 percent year on year in April, driven by electronics NORX.

For the first four months of 2026, NODX grew 13.5 percent compared with the same period last year.

Singapore's total merchandise trade increased 33.1 percent in April, following a 38.3 percent expansion in March, as both exports and imports continued to register growth.
