Chinese shares close lower Monday

BEIJING, May 18 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.09 percent to 4,131.53 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.20 percent lower at 15,530.23 points. ■
