BUENOS AIRES, May 16 (Xinhua) -- Facundo Colidio converted a second-half penalty as River Plate reached the final of Argentina's Apertura tournament on Saturday with a 1-0 home win over Rosario Central.
Colidio broke the deadlock just after the hour, sending Jeremias Ledesma the wrong way after the Rosario Central goalkeeper clattered into Joaquin Freitas.
The visitors managed just one shot on target as River Plate booked a place in next weekend's title decider.
"We played a great match, we didn't allow them to impose their game," River manager Eduardo Coudet told reporters after the match. "There's still a long way to go but we'll keep on working hard to correct our mistakes and prepare ourselves as best we can for the next challenge."
The Buenos Aires side will play the winner of Sunday's other semifinal between Argentinos Juniors and Belgrano in the final. ■
