KIEV, May 14 (Xinhua) -- One person was killed and 36 others injured after Russia launched a large-scale overnight missile attack across Ukraine that continued into Thursday morning, with 11 people rescued from beneath a partially collapsed building.
Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, said one person was killed and 29 others were injured in the Ukrainian capital. Another seven people, including a child, were injured in the surrounding Kyiv region, according to the State Emergency Service.
According to preliminary information, a residential building in the southeastern Darnytskyi district was attacked, trapping people under the rubble, said Tkachenko.
The search and rescue operation at the site of the strike continues. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that municipal medical teams have set up a triage point near the collapse site to treat incoming wounded. ■
