KABUL, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Police have smashed the gang of kidnappers after killing the ring leader and securing the release of the kidnapped man in Afghanistan's capital Kabul on Wednesday, reported the official Radio and Television of Afghanistan on Wednesday night.
Following the rescue operations against the kidnappers, police secured the safe release of the kidnapped man in Police District 17 of Kabul city, it said, adding two criminals, including the ring leader of the band, were killed in the shootout.
Five more members of the band have been arrested, the report went on to say, without offering more details. ■
