Chinese shares close lower Tuesday

BEIJING, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed lower on Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.25 percent to 4,214.49 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.47 percent lower at 15,824.92 points. ■
