KATHMANDU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Four people died while 26 others were injured on Tuesday after a bus carrying pilgrims met with an accident in Arghakhanchi district in western Nepal, a police officer said.
The bus, carrying 30 people returning from a local temple, veered about 100 meters off the highway, leading to the fatal accident. "Two people died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries at a hospital," Jhalak Prasad Sharma, spokesperson at the district police, told Xinhua.
The injured are receiving treatment at local hospitals, with some in serious condition, Sharma said. Police are conducting a mechanical inspection of the bus to determine the cause of the accident. ■
