KUWAIT CITY, May 12 (Xinhua) -- The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry said Tuesday that four people arrested earlier this month for attempting to enter Kuwait by sea belong to Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps.

The four "infiltrators" also confessed during interrogation that they planned to enter Kuwait's Bubiyan Island "aboard a fishing boat that had been specially chartered to carry out hostile acts against Kuwait," the ministry said on social media platform X.

The ministry added that one member of Kuwait's armed forces was injured in clashes with the "infiltrators."

Meanwhile, the Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry said on X that Kuwait demands that Iran "immediately and unconditionally cease" its "unlawful hostile acts."

Iran did not immediately acknowledge the allegation.

According to media reports, the arrest was made on May 1, when two more "infiltrators" had escaped.
