PHNOM PENH, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia and Azerbaijan on Monday pledged to further enhance bilateral relations and cooperation, said a press release from the Cambodian prime minister's spokesperson unit.
The pledge was made during a meeting at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Elchin Amirbayov, representative of the Azerbaijani president on special assignments.
The two sides discussed strengthening and expanding cooperation in key areas, including politics, economy, trade, energy, tourism, culture, education and agriculture, the press release said.
"They further discussed promoting private-sector relations between the two countries through the organization of business-to-business meetings and business forums aimed at exploring investment opportunities and further increasing bilateral trade volume," it added.
During the meeting, Hun Manet said both countries still have considerable potential to expand collaboration in various areas for the mutual benefit of the two nations and peoples.
For his part, Amirbayov said Azerbaijan is exploring new opportunities to enhance cooperation in various potential sectors, as well as to foster private-sector relations, especially through the expansion of economic and trade cooperation, according to the press release. ■
