BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 1.08 percent to 4,225.02 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.16 percent higher at 15,899.30 points. ■
