BEIRUT, May 10 (Xinhua) -- Two paramedics were killed and five others wounded on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes targeting medical response centers in southern Lebanon, Lebanon's Health Ministry said in a statement.
Two separate airstrikes directly targeted facilities affiliated with the Islamic Health Organization in the towns of Qlayleh and Tebnine in the Bint Jbeil district, it said.
One paramedic was killed and three others wounded in the strike on Qlayleh, while another paramedic was killed and two others injured in the strike on Tebnine.
The Operations Emergency Center at the Ministry of Public Health accused Israel of continuing to violate international laws and humanitarian norms by targeting medical personnel.
The strikes came despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect last month following weeks of cross-border fighting tied to broader regional tensions triggered by the U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran. ■
