DUBAI, May 10 (Xinhua) -- The UAE Ministry of Defense said Sunday that the country's air defense systems successfully intercepted two drones launched from Iran, with no casualties reported.
In a statement, the ministry said that since the onset of the Iranian attacks, UAE air defense systems have intercepted a total of 551 ballistic missiles, 29 cruise missiles, and 2,265 drones.
The ministry said since the attacks began, 230 people have been injured, including nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, and Bangladesh.
According to the statement, two military personnel have been killed, in addition to a Moroccan civilian contracted with the armed forces. Civilian fatalities stand at 10, including nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Palestine, India, and Egypt.
The ministry reaffirmed that the armed forces remain fully prepared to confront any threats and safeguard the country's sovereignty, security and stability. ■
