PYONGYANG, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Kim Jong Un, top leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on Saturday extended congratulations on the 81st anniversary of Russia's victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In a message to Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kim extended his congratulations to the Russian state leadership and all the Russian people, the official Korean Central News Agency said.
The DPRK will "give top priority to the comprehensive strategic partnership of alliance character between our two countries and invariably develop it," Kim was quoted as saying.
The DPRK will always be responsible for the implementation of the obligations of the interstate treaty between the DPRK and Russia, said the report, in clear reference to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty the two countries signed in 2024.
"Pyongyang is always with you and the fraternal Russian people," the DPRK leader said in the message. ■
