BEIJING, May 8 (Xinhua) -- Culture serves as spiritual nourishment and a profound driving force supporting high-quality development, while high-quality cultural offerings fuel consumption growth, said a Xinhua think tank report released on Thursday.
The report titled "The Theory of Cultural Empowerment: China's Cultural Consciousness in Marching Toward High-Quality Development" was released by Xinhua Institute, a think tank affiliated with Xinhua News Agency.
"The improved quality and efficiency of artistic creation, the burst of vitality from public participation, and the growing international influence of Chinese culture have injected a lasting and powerful cultural momentum into social and economic development," it said.
The report said China is accelerating the integration of culture with technology, tourism and manufacturing to foster new business models and consumption scenarios.
In 2025, domestic tourist trips in China reached 6.522 billion, up 16.2 percent year on year, while operating revenue of major cultural enterprises exceeded 15 trillion yuan (about 2.2 trillion U.S. dollars).
