ABU DHABI, May 7 (Xinhua) -- UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi discussed regional developments and their impact on regional and international security and stability during talks in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
During the meeting, Sisi reiterated Egypt's condemnation of attacks targeting civilians and civilian facilities in the UAE and affirmed Cairo's solidarity with the Gulf state, along with its support for measures to protect its security and sovereignty, WAM said.
The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties and cooperation, particularly in areas supporting development priorities and economic prosperity in both countries.
Earlier Thursday, the two leaders visited an Egyptian fighter jet detachment stationed in the UAE and reviewed its operational readiness and capabilities. ■
