TEHRAN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said on Thursday that parts of a pier in Qeshm Island have been targeted during an exchange of fire between Iranian armed forces and the "enemy."
Identifying the pier as "Bahman," Fars reported that multiple explosions were heard in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas and on Qeshm Island, though the cause remained undetermined.
The explosions in Bandar Abbas were related to the Iranian air defense's confrontation with two "micro aerial vehicles," the semi-official Tasnim news agency quoted local sources as saying, adding that the United Arab Emirates could have been behind the attack on the pier in Qeshm Island. ■
