BEIRUT, May 8 (Xinhua) -- An Israeli strike killed a paramedic and a drone raid killed a civil defense member in southern Lebanon between late Thursday and early Friday, said Lebanese authorities.
An Israeli airstrike targeted an ambulance team in the town of Majdal Selm, killing a paramedic from the Islamic Health Society and injuring another, said Lebanon's Public Health Emergency Operations Center.
Lebanon's health ministry condemned the attack as a violation of international humanitarian law, reiterating its call for the international community to take action to stop such violations and uphold international agreements.
In another raid, an Israeli drone struck a vehicle on the road in the Hasbaya District, killing a civil defense member.
Meanwhile, the Israeli army issued urgent warnings to residents of several southern Lebanese towns and villages, asking them to leave the areas amid continued tensions.
The latest developments came despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect on April 16, following weeks of intensified cross-border fighting linked to the wider regional conflict involving Iran. ■
