BEIJING, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Adhering to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, as well as honoring the commitments made by previous U.S. administrations on the Taiwan question, are international obligations that the United States must fulfill, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Thursday.
"It is also a necessary prerequisite for the stable, sound and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations," Lin said at a regular news briefing when answering a related question. ■
