BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 7 (Xinhua) -- The rapid development of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), the knowledge-based economy and increasingly complex global challenges require Brunei's public service to be innovative and agile, a senior Brunei government minister said on Thursday.
Speaking during the certificate presentation ceremony for the Executive Development Program for senior Brunei government officials, Haji Halbi Haji Mohd Yussof, minister at the Prime Minister's Office and second minister of defence, stressed that the public service can no longer rely entirely on traditional approaches in carrying out its responsibilities and delivering services.
The minister said Brunei government institutions need to think strategically and encourage innovation within their organisations in order to remain relevant and effective.
He added that service delivery methods should also be continuously renewed to become more efficient, easily accessible and capable of providing added value to the public. ■
