TEHRAN, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency on Monday rejected a claim by the United States military that it has sunk several Iranian assault boats.
The report cited a senior military official as making the denial after Brad Cooper, chief of U.S. Central Command, told reporters that the U.S. military "blew up" six small Iranian boats in the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.
According to CNN, Cooper said the Iranian boats were attacked by U.S. Apache and SH-60 Seahawk helicopters after Iran launched "multiple cruise missiles, drones and small boats" at U.S. Navy ships and commercial ships being "protected" by the U.S. military. ■
