JAKARTA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's annual inflation eased to 2.42 percent in April, down from 3.48 percent a month earlier, Statistics Indonesia, or BPS, announced on Monday.
The figure remained within the central bank's target range of 1.5 percent to 3.5 percent.
BPS said inflation was recorded across all expenditure groups, with notable increases in food, beverages and tobacco, as well as personal care and other services.
Commodities including cigarettes, airfares, and gold jewelry were among the main contributors to inflation, while lower prices in several transportation-related items helped contain the overall increase. ■
