ACCRA, May 4 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's U-20 women's team came from behind to beat Uganda 2-1 in the first leg of the final qualifying round for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Uganda stunned the home side by taking a 32nd-minute lead through Agnes Nabukenya, and Ghana struggled to respond before halftime despite pushing for an equalizer.
The Black Princesses improved after the break and drew level in the 58th minute when substitute Priscilla Mensah headed home from close range.
Latifa Abesik then completed the turnaround, finishing off a well-worked move after receiving a pass from the flank.
The result gives Ghana a narrow advantage ahead of the return leg in Uganda next week.
The FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup will be held in Poland from September 5 to 27. ■
