BERLIN, May 3 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich will not abandon its attacking approach despite conceding 11 goals in its last three matches, midfielder Joshua Kimmich said ahead of the second leg of its UEFA Champions League semifinal against Paris Saint-Germain.
After last week's 5-4 first-leg defeat in Paris, Kimmich said there was no time to overhaul the team's style.
"We're not going to change our approach within a few days," he said. "It's clear we are the team that has to come back and score. Sitting back is not an option."
Coach Vincent Kompany played down concerns over Bayern's defensive record and focused instead on the opportunity to respond at home.
"Our full focus is on Paris now," Kompany said, adding that the team must deliver a reaction in front of its own fans.
Bayern will host the decisive second leg in Munich, where supporters have already created a charged atmosphere, unveiling banners ahead of the match and calling for a full stadium response.
Midfielder Leon Goretzka said the team is determined to reach the final.
"We are full of determination," he said. "We want to get to that final."
Bayern is chasing another treble, having previously achieved the feat in 2013 and 2020.
Kompany urged supporters to play their part in what he expects to be an intense night.
"We will need the energy from the fans," he said. "It will be a demanding game, but we believe we can turn it around."
In team news, Jamal Musiala is nearing full fitness after injury, while Serge Gnabry is sidelined with a muscle problem that will also see him miss this summer's World Cup.
Kimmich said a recent squad meeting reinforced belief within the team.
"We all feel we can beat Paris," he said. "That's what we're aiming to do." ■
