RIO DE JANEIRO, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Relegation-threatened Remo scored twice in the last 30 minutes, recovering from a goal down to beat Botafogo 2-1 in Brazil's Serie A on Saturday.

Venezuelan defender Nahuel Ferraresi gave Botafogo the lead at Rio's Olympic Stadium by heading in after Alex Telles' corner.

Alef Manga put the visitors on level terms when he capitalized on an errant headed clearance from Angolan defender Bastos to fire a powerful shot past goalkeeper Neto.

Jaja Silva sealed the win in stoppage time with a low shot that went in after Neto deflected it onto the post.

"My job is to score goals, so I'm happy to have done that tonight," Manga said after the match. "We really needed this win and I'm just happy that we were rewarded for our effort."

Remo is now 18th in the 20-team standings with 11 points, six behind 10th-placed Botafogo.

Elsewhere in Brazil's Serie A on Saturday, Vitoria won 4-1 at home to Coritiba and Santos drew 1-1 at Palmeiras.
