RIO DE JANEIRO, April 29 (Xinhua) -- Goalkeeper Carlos Miguel scored a late own goal as Paraguay's Cerro Porteno salvaged a 1-1 home draw with Brazilian side Palmeiras in the Copa Libertadores group stage on Wednesday.
Colombian midfielder Jhon Arias gave Palmeiras the lead in Asuncion by firing in from close range after Allan's cross.
The visitors looked to be cruising until the 72nd minute when Juan Iturbe's long-range shot rebounded off the woodwork before ricocheting into the net off the outstretched Miguel.
Palmeiras dominated the final minutes but couldn't find a winner against a Cerro Porteno side that defended stubbornly but managed only two shots on target.
In Argentina, a second-half strike from Guido Carrillo handed Estudiantes a 1-1 home draw with reigning champion Flamengo.
The Brazilian club opened the scoring through Luiz Araujo, who swept in from eight yards after a fine run and cross from Bruno Henrique.
Estudiantes drew level when Carrillo bundled in from the goal line after Facundo Farias met Eric Meza's cross from the right with a lunging header.
Elsewhere in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday, Universidad Catolica won 2-1 at Barcelona SC, Mirassol cruised to a 2-0 home win over Always Ready and Platense prevailed 2-1 at home to Santa Fe. ■
