JAKARTA, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia will grant a six-month zero-tariff relief on imports of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and certain plastic raw materials to help ease soaring prices amid global supply pressures, a senior minister said here Tuesday.

At a press conference, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the measure targets the petrochemical industry, which has faced difficulties in securing naphtha due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The exemption will also cover polypropylene and polyethylene imports, he added.

Airlangga said that authorities plan regulatory measures to streamline import procedures and ensure continued supply for the industry and the packaging sector.

The government will review the policy after six months, he added.
