BEIRUT, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Two people were wounded during Israeli airstrikes and shelling in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, Lebanon's National News Agency (NNA) reported.
The two injuries were resulted from an Israeli drone strike on a motorcycle in the village of Majdal Zoun in the Tyre district, the NNA reported, adding that the village of Byout al-Siyyad in the district was targeted by Israeli artillery shelling.
Meanwhile, Israeli warplanes targeted the town of Tebnine and the village of Kafra in the Bint Jbeil district before striking the outskirts of the village of Shaqra and the Tayr Harma area, the NNA reported.
Israeli forces also conducted a demolition operation in the town of Rshaf in the district, while firing a phosphorus shell over the town of Baraachit, it reported.
Earlier in the day, the Israeli army issued evacuation warnings to residents of multiple southern towns and villages, urging them to move north toward the Sidon district.
The attacks came despite a ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon that took effect at midnight between April 16 and 17, following weeks of intensified cross-border fighting linked to the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. ■
